What American Travelers Should Expect

The first good news is the flight. Royal Air Maroc connects Casablanca nonstop with New York JFK, Washington Dulles and Miami, and since June 2026 also with Los Angeles, a route of about 11 hours. Delta adds a seasonal flight between Atlanta and Marrakech. Some routes do not run all year, so look at your dates first and build the tour around the flight.

The second good news is paperwork. With a US passport you can stay up to 90 days without a visa. Carry a passport with six months of validity and at least one empty page, and read the current advice on travel.state.gov before you leave.

Honestly, the paperwork is the easy part. What catches most people off guard are the little everyday things that just work differently than back home, and they are a lot more fun when you see them coming. For Canadians, especially from Quebec, Morocco has an advantage that few destinations offer: you can travel the whole country in French. It is the second language in cities, hotels and many shops, and you can ask for a French speaking guide from the first message.

Royal Air Maroc flies nonstop from Montreal and Toronto to Casablanca, and Air Transat links Montreal with Marrakech. Also those visits were timed in a way that there were not too many people. Un viaje precioso no sólo por la belleza de Marruecos sino también por el servicio de Mohamed que estaba pendiente de todo y siempre puntual. La conducción para llegar a los diferentes lugares fue muy buena. Y los hoteles los Riads que eligieron mejor de lo esperado. We made a 10 days trip to Morocco during Nov and . After Casablanca we traveled to places like Marakesh, Dades Valley, Todra gorge, Merzouga, Ouarzazate, Rissani town, Fez, Ifran, Chefchaouen, Meknes, Tangier. Our tour operator Mr. Mohammad, the owner of Numidian Morocco Tours was a wonderful person with full of passion, patience and caring attitude. During our long stay he has never been perturbed despite our various demands. In fact he became like a member of our two family group. Views were superb , we had bit problem with food because we all were from Bangladesh & we love salty , hot & spicy food otherwise it was very good . Morocco is wonderful place to visit .
