ITINERARY
2 days towards the desert from Ouarzazate
Ouarzazate – dades valley- Todra gorge – Merzouga
The morning departure takes us from Ouarzazate to the dunes of Merzouga via the oasis of Skoura. Where we stop to visit the kasbah of Amridil. The main road passes through the valley of the roses, the road of a thousand kasbahs.
And the Dades valley to the Todra gorges where we stop for lunch. In the afternoon, our trip continues to the dunes of Merzouga for an hour camel ride to reach the dunes of Erg Chebbi .
From the top of the dunes the sunset is spectacular. Here, at Erg Chebbi, we will have dinner and spend the night in a desert camp.
Overnight: in a traditional desert camp (luxury or standard options available).
Merzouga – Rissani – Alnif – Agdz – Anti-Atlas – Ouarzazate
If you wake up early enough, you can watch the spectacle of the sunrise. When the color of the dunes and the play of shadows are an awesome sight. The return to the hotel in Merzouga for having a shower is on camel back and. After having breakfast, we drive from Merzouga to Ouarzazate passing by the villages of Rissani, Alnif, Tazzarine (now appearing in the film of ‘Babel’) and N’Qob where we stop for lunch.
In the afternoon, we drive along the Draa valley and the ancient road of caravans surrounded by palm trees and full of ancient Kasbahs such as the most well-known one of Tamnougalte.
We rejoin the paved road in Agdez and reach Ouarazazate at the end of the day. Crossing the Anti-Atlas and the mountain pass of Tizi-n-Tinfifite (1660m).
