Our quest will start at 8h00am with both your driver and the guide waiting for you next your Riad/Hotel and depart from Marrakech to Dades valley, through the Tizi- N-Tichka pass (2260m), in the Atlas Mountains, considered as the highest pass in Morocco. Along the way to Ouarzazate, you will have a chance to enjoy the scenic road, beautiful landscapes with different colors and the Berber villages along the way and definitely with stops to capture some of the marvelous things. The first destination will be the old Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. This latter was ranked by the UNESCO as a world heritage in 1987. This historical site has been used as a backdrop for more than 30 films including “Gladiator” “Indiana Jones” and “Lawrence of Arabia”. Our guide will be delighted to have a walk with you to explore the traditional Moroccan style of architecture in which the Kasbahs are built, and have lunch at some of the main restaurants there. Afterwards, we go further southeast to the green Dades valley and the city of roses via the fascinating Skoura palmary. Dinner and overnight in Dades valley.
After spending a relaxed night at the hotel, in the morning, you will have your your breakfast ready for you, departure from your hotel in Dades valley will be at 8 a.m., taking the road of 1000 kasbahs drive around the colorful Berber villages of the Dades valley. 60 km further, you will get to Tinghir with its beautiful palm grove and Jewish quarter. In Tinghir, you will have a short visit the the women’s cooperative for carpets to see how this wonderful handmade Berber carpets are made. Then you continue to Todra Gorges (Todra), our guide will accompany you for a small walk along the canyons of about 300m high, a favorite place for rock climbers. Afterwards you will leave to Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga Sahara desert and you will have time for lunch on the way before you arrive to Erfoud. Then we will head for the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. Around 04pm, you will have some few minutes to prepare yourself, pick your things, as you will be taken on a breathtaking experience on camels towards the middle of Sahara, and witness the sunset. When we arrive at the camp, you will have dinner and some activities; fire with drums music in the middle of the desert, this is a great opportunity to take lovely pictures, we are going to spend the night in a nomad tent.
Early morning, you will wake up to enjoy the sunrise over the dunes of Erg Chebbi, followed by breakfast in the camp. Then we will ride the camels or 4*4 back to the hotel at the dune line for a quick shower. We drive to Rissani, a small Saharan town in southeast of Morocco; here we can stop to visit an old Souk (market) before we continue to Agdez and Draa valley, where we will have a break go picture the big valley. Then we will be heading north to Ouarazazate after crossing the small Atlas Mountains. Dinner, breakfast and accommodation will be in a Riad in Ouarazazate.
After breakfast, we are going to take you the old Kasbah in the city (Taourirt) and visiting the cinema sets & studios located there, which is known as the Hollywood of Africa. Afterwards we will visit the universal Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou Kasbah as it has been named by UNESCO in 1987. Ait Benhaddou is the World Heritage site that has been used as a backdrop for more than 30 films including “Gladiator” “Indiana Jones” and “Lawrence of Arabia”. Enjoy a walk to explore the traditional Moroccan style of architecture in which the Kasbahs are built. We continue our way to Marrakesh through the High Atlas Mountains and Tizi n’Tichka pass. Break for lunch in the middle of the Atlas Mountains. Drop off at your Marrakech Riad/Hotel.
