6 days M’Goun Ascent & Aït Bougmez Valley Trek
From Marrakech
Marrakech – Aït Bougmez Valley (1750m) – Start of Trek – Ikkis N’Arous Camp (2300m)
Early morning transfer from Marrakech to Azilal, the gateway to the mountains, and then over the Tizi N’Oughbar Pass to the Aït Bougmez Valley.
Meet your muleteer team, enjoy lunch, and begin your hike up the Arous Valley toward the Ikkis N’Arous pastures.
Overnight: under tents in Ikkis N’Arous (2300m).
Walking time: 4 – 5 hours
Ascent: +500m
Ikkis N’Arous (2250m) – Tizi Tarkedit Pass (3400m) – Tarkedit Plateau (2900m)
Climb steadily toward Tizi Tarkedit (3400m), where you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the M’Goun range and its main summit.
Descend across the vast Tarkedit Plateau, often grazed by nomadic herders and their flocks.
Overnight: camping on the Tarkedit Plateau.

Tarkedit – Ascent of Mount M’Goun (4071m) – Oulilimt Springs (2600m)
A long but rewarding day — the highlight of your trek.
Ascend gradually along a high ridge to the summit of Mount M’Goun (4071m), where breathtaking views stretch across the entire Atlas, the Draa Valley, and the Dades Valley.
Descend through stunning landscapes to the Oulilimt Springs for camp.
Overnight: under tents at Oulilimt (2600m)
Walking time: 8 – 9 hours
Ascent: +1170m
Descent: -1470m
Oulilimt (2600m) – Aït Imi Pass (2905m) – Aït Imi Springs (2100m)
Meet nomadic families with their herds as you ascend to the Aït Imi Pass (2905m), offering superb views of the M’Goun Massif and surrounding valleys.
Descend gently toward the Aït Bougmez Valley, enjoying a lunch break under juniper trees before reaching camp.
Overnight: camping near Aït Imi Springs (2100m).
Trek Duration: 5 -6 hours walking.
Aït Imi – Adazen Mountain (2400m) – Aït Bougmez Valley – Timit Village (1750m)
A relaxed day exploring the cultural and natural heritage of the “Happy Valley.”
Visit dinosaur footprints in Ibaklioun village, hike through juniper forests up to the Adazen ridge (2400m), then descend through traditional Berber villages with earthen houses blending into the landscape.
End the day at the Sidi Moussa Marabout, a fortified granary offering panoramic valley views.
Overnight: in a local guesthouse (Timit village).
Trek Duration: 5 hours walking.
Aït Bougmez Valley – Ouzoud Waterfalls – Marrakech
Morning transfer via Azilal with a stop at the famous Ouzoud Waterfalls.
Lunch at a local restaurant near the falls, then continue to Marrakech, arriving around 5:00 PM.
Drive Time: 7 hours.
